On Friday we told you all about the Pok Ta Pok World Cup being played in Belize for the first time. It was a well earned home stand in Orange Walk for the Belizean teams which had won the last three world championships.
But, as fate would have it, they were not so lucky on their home soil.
Mexico's male team and Guatemala's girls team won the 5th Mundo Maya Pok-ta-pok World Cup.
And although Belize did not secure the first place, we still managed to secure a trophy.
Belize's Belize's Kinich Ahau men garnered the second place, while our female team came in third in the women's category with Guatemala 1st and El Salvador in 2nd.
