If you've been feeling that it's been especially hot and dry recently...so do the weather experts...in fact, they say it is a certified drought and one that's only going to get worse.

The Corozal, and Orange Walk Districts are the most affected. Rainfall in those areas for the month of March is reported at only 10% of the average. That's bad news as we head into Aril, historically the driest month of the year. The experts say that most areas will continue to be affected by intense drought throughout April.

And while you can blame the weather gods, a more likely culprit is El Nino. That's right, the bad baby boy that's caused weather wrecks worldwide is on what's known as his southern oscillation over the Central and Eastern Pacific. With El Nino wreaking havoc and this continued dry outlook, the best advice form the experts is to conserve water.
