It appears we're clear. Tonight Hurricane Wilma is 169 miles northeast of Belize's northern border as she continues on a northwestern track to the Yucatan Peninsula. At this hour, the storm is re-organizing and strengthening; maximum sustained winds at 6:00 pm are 150 miles an hour, making this a very dangerous category 4 storm. As we continue to watch and see what damage she will inflict on Yucatan, tonight we can report that Belize suffered no major damage. The tropical storm warning remains in effect for coastal areas of Northern Belize from Belize City north to the Belize/Mexico border.
