They convert hundreds of thousands of gallons of salt water to potable water every year and now Consolidated Water Belize Limited on San Pedro is going public. Today the water company, which sells water to Belize Water Services who then sells it to San Pedranos made its case as a provider of a vital service had a press event. Wade Van Doren told our associates at the San Pedro Sun that that they are ready for development on Northern San Pedro.
Wade Van Doren, Consolidated Water
"Currently this plant produces 490,000 U.S. gallons a day."
Kainie Manuel, San Pedro Sun
"And how much of that does BWSL buy from you?"
Wade Van Doren,
"Right they are buying about 440,000 gallons a day."
Kainie Manuel,
"BWS along with your group revealed the intentions of building or increasing the services to North Ambergris Caye, San Pedro is growing so big, so fast right now. Once that is put into place, will you guys be able to produce enough water for the entire island?"
Wade Van Doren,
"Yes we will. This plant will be able to do 550,000 U.S. gallons a day by approximately the first of August and then we likely will be bringing in more equipment to this particular facility to increase the capacity to well in excess of 700,000 U.S. gallons a day."
Consolidated Water says that their water exceeds WHO standards for potable water.
