Sarteneja fisherman Rogelio Solis Jr. was busted with 50 pounds of cocaine on April 10th. He was on a bus which had just pulled into the Novelo's station. That's when police searched the bus and say that they found the cocaine, 19 packs of it distributed across three bags which were sitting on and under a seat adjoining his.

It should have been a major case as police had their eye on Solis for some time but on May 23rd, without anyone knowing, police prosecutor Sgt. Damian Lino withdrew the case. Apparently it was a mistake, a major one but a mistake nonetheless as Lino misinterpreted a directive in the case file.

This was just discovered last week and police went into a scramble to find Solis and then re-arrest him. But he made it easy; he turned himself into police at the Queen Street Station this morning and was re-arrested. He was taken to Magistrate's Court number two and re-charged for drug trafficking. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers remanded him until July 25th.

Notably the last time he had also been remanded but got bail when his attorney Simeon Sampson applied to the Supreme Court. That bail was for $40,000.
