After last night’s expose on a diaper stuffed sofa set from SP Home Depot, more than a few furniture owners who’d bought from the same store, cut open their couches to see if diapers were inside. We’ll tell you about one of those shortly. But first, the update on the woman who started it all. Tifara Halliday went to SP Home Depot today expecting to get some satisfaction but she says she was turned away.
Tifara Halliday, Found Diapers in Sofa
“Well I went down to Home Depot and I asked the manager about the chair and he gave me no explanation to say like he would take the chair and take it there or something and fix it and give me a new one. He said that I must do whatever I want or I could just bring the chair for him and I am not on that. So I am not bringing in any chair for him and I would just want them to give me a chair or something or fix that one.”

But he didn’t give an undertaking to fix it?
Tifara Halliday,
“Well his thing that he called his boss and they were talking and then that was it. He didn’t say anything else.”
Jules Vasquez,
When I spoke to his boss, his boss said to bring it and he will repair it.
Tifara Halliday,
“Well he never said that. He didn’t say anything like that. He just said that his boss said that they can’t deal with it right now and a whole lot of thing. They put it off.”
Jules Vasquez,
So what will you do?
Tifara Halliday,
“I will sue them for it.”
We called SP Home Depot but were unable to get comment from the manager of the city store. A more senior representative from the Orange Walk Store told us yesterday that the store would repair ms, Halliday’s couch and that he would call her, which she says he has not.
Diapers Also Stuffed in Yvette Bradley’s Sofa Set
But unto today’s news. Today two persons with diaper stuffed couches called us. Yvette Bradley who bought a four piece sofa set from SP Home Depot late last year, turned over the three chairs in her home and cut them open. As you can see, this is what she found: diapers.
Three of her chairs were stuffed full with them. The only consolation is that the diapers in her sofas don’t look soiled. She also noted that the footstool wasn’t stuffed with the same.
She immediately called SP Home Depot and they promised to call her back. When we last checked with her around 4 this evening, they hadn’t as yet. We’ll keep following the story.
