The battle for control of the St. Francis Xavier Credit Union continues tonight. It's been almost a month since the board was suspended by the supervisory committee on September 13th. And its been another two weeks since the Registrar of Credit Unions, Central Bank Governor Sydney Campbell told the supervisory committee to reinstate that board. But that directive was ignored and on Saturday all sides met in the Central Bank conference room with Registrar Campbell. But though a compromise was proposed, no solution was arrived at.

Today chairperson Luciola West went to visit the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and to visit an attorney. When she was done all that she stopped by 7NEWS and told us that tonight she is still locked out of the credit union.

Luciola West, Chairperson
"Right now we are locked out. We are not allowed to go in. Only myself has been asked by the registrar to go in to sign checks."

Jules Vasquez,
I know that you all had a meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank on Saturday. Is there is any result from this, is there any progress made towards reinstating you all as the board of directors?

Luciola West,
"Well I would say no because there was a suggestion for a compromise of four of the members of my board and three of the members of the other group and we have had a meeting where we said we are not going to compromise to make something that is unlawful and illegal, legal."

Jules Vasquez,
You have met with the Registrar of Cooperatives and Credit Unions, why don't you just go to the Prime Minister, he is the Minister of Finance with responsibility for Cooperatives and Credit Unions, why don't you just ask him to intervene and see that you all properly installed as per the directive of the Registrar of Credit Unions?

Luciola West,
"Well we have gone to the Prime Minister and this time, if it is in the hands of the court, then we are going to say that the law is going to stand and God is in the law."

The term for West's Board of Directors runs until March of next year.
