He doesn’t speak English but this afternoon 68 year old Miguel Angel Sanchez only had to sign his name when he picked up his check from the Lotto office. Sanchez hit Wednesday night’s $127,500 lotto jackpot and today he along with wife and grandson traveled from Santa Clara Village in Corozal to claim the big prize. With the help of a translator, Sanchez told us how he picked the winning numbers and how he plans to spend the money.

Miguel Angel Sanchez, LOTTO Winner
“I feel very happy, very happy.”

Keith Swift,
How did he choose the winning numbers?

Miguel Angel Sanchez,

Keith Swift,
What are his plans for the money?

Miguel Angel Sanchez,
“I am going to fix my house, help my children and grandchildren, and put some on savings. I don’t live far from where I bought the tickets and I checked on Friday night and I was cross checking and I saw that I won.”

After taxes, Sanchez took home $108,375. The winning numbers were 3, 13, 23, 30, and 31. That was for last Wednesday’s jackpot. There was no winner on Saturday so tomorrow’s jackpot jumps to $55,000.
