There’s some relief for the productive sector tonight. The pump price of diesel went down sharply at midnight on Sunday. It plummeted from $9.78 a gallon to $9.03, a drop of seventy-five cents. It is a reflection of world oil prices which tumbled to the $90 mark two weeks ago. And while there’s relief for diesel consumers, no such luck for those who use regular and premium gasoline. Regular went up by three cents from $10.08 to $10.11. Premium went up by eight cents from $10.36 to $10.44.
And while in the past government has been known to tinker with the revenue replacement duty and not pass on decreases in acquisition prices, the law has changed to impose a fixed rate of import duty on all fuels.
