Poultry Breakthrough: Belize Exports Chicken to Grenada

On Wednesday, Belize exported its first shipment of chicken to the CARICOM region. 16,000 pounds of assorted chicken meat went to Grenada.

Western Dairies Belize incorporated Western Dairies Grenada in 2018 to serve as a hub for exports into the CARICOM market. This operation has been the conduit for shipments of Western Dairies ice cream into Grenada and has now diversified with the export of chicken cuts.

A release says that the minor breakthrough came over the last several days, Ministers Eamon Courtenay and Jose Mai held discussions with their Grenadian counterparts to secure market entry for the poultry.
