It's a three way race to see which cruise port facility will come out on top to control Belize cruise tourism future. Port Coral, Port of Magical Belize and the Waterloo Port are the three proposed docking facilities vying for first place.

But it seems Port Coral is establishing itself as the frontrunner. This port will be situated on Stake Bank and has already gotten parliamentary approval. It also gotten a letter of endorsement from the PM back when he was the leader of the opposition.

And now, it has gotten a visit from the Minister of Tourism.

Anthony Mahler was accompanied by a a group including ministerial colleagues along with the chairman of the BTB board of directors, Evan Tillett, who met up with developers Mike Feinstein and Troy Gabb from Stake Bank Enterprises.

The team took a tour of the development and a rendering of the project design.

This 82.5 million US dollar project is set to include multiple facilities capable of accommodating four of the largest class of cruise ships simultaneously.

The project is expected to be completed by March 2022.
