The media also took the opportunity to ask the police for an update on the Rene Montero case.

Last we reported, the case file for an unspecified criminal complaint coming out of the government of Belize was sent to the DPP's office in early February.

But, still, no charges.

Well, ACP Myvett told the media today that the police are still working on it and the first file has been submitted to the DPP.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB

"A team of officers have been assigned to do that investigation, a number of evidence were gathered in terms of that investigation and those were compiled and sent to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution which she reviewed and gave us further directives and so the officers are now complying with those further directives that were given to them and then those will also be compiled and forwarded back to her for further direction."

"A number of persons whom are associated with him were a part of the interviewing process during the investigation."
