The police also spoke on the murder of 36-year-old Dennis Trapp that occurred last week Thursday in Punta Gorda Town, during curfew hours. There wasn't much to update the media on, since police had yet to detain anybody, but they say they have a named suspect and are trying to get surveillance footage to help the investigation move forward. ACP Myvett told us more.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB
"In relation to that murder in Punta Gorda, no the officers are still investigating and we are following several leads and we are looking for a suspect who is known to the police in relation to this investigation."

"Officers are on the ground conducting investigation and the entire area is being canvassed to see whether there are any other cameras that can assist the investigation."

Reporter:
"Did Mr Trapp ever make any report to the police that he was threatened before or any attempt on his life?"

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB

"Yes he did and the police have that statement to that effect in which he requested no court action. I think it was a little over a month ago whilst at the dumb site he was fired upon by unknown persons whilst at his work site in the dump site area."

Trapp was targeted twice before - one when his house was burned down and another when he was shot at while working.
