And while you'll need to fish out extra cash to park in certain areas in the city, BWS is trying to save you a pretty penny. In a press release, the company said that it has formally written to the Public Utilities Commission to request a review of the decision made in its 2019-2020 Full Tariff Review, which would have caused an across the board tariff increase of 2.25% which would have come into effect today.

BWS says it felt that asking the PUC for the review was the, quote, "right thing to do" in an effort to mitigate the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic and its resulting impact on the lives of customers and Belize's economy.

The PUC has been asked to expedite the review and in the interim, the PUC has instructed BWS to suspend the implementation of the schedule rate adjustment.
