Fourth Fatal On Phillip Goldson In A Week

Another man lost his life on the Phillip Goldson Highway - the fourth fatality on that highway in less than a week.

It happened early this morning when cane farmer Victoriano Pott got a flat tyre in his loaded cane truck about 2 miles out of Orange Walk on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Pott says he pulled as close as he could to the side of the road to change the tyre. He was busy doing that when 22 year old motorcycle driver Orlando Trejo slammed into the back of his truck. It was a major impact which flung Trejo off the bike and left it wedged under the cane truck. The Sarteneja resident was rushed to the hospital where he died from multiple injuries.

Pott was taken to the station and police are determining whether to bring charges.
