And while we wait for that announcement, yesterday the Minister of New Growth Industries indicated that ostriches will be Belize's next industry. And ostrich farmer, Nancy Marin, has her sights set on eventually exporting the meat, generating more foreign currency and also ensuring food security.

So, you'd think it's something that PUP should be boasting about, right? Only about a year and half into office and they're about to start up a whole new exotic industry, one that had never even been spoken about before.

But today the PM's lukewarm reaction made us wonder if he's the one with his head buried in the sand:

Courtney Menzies
"BAHA approved the pest risk analysis for ostrich farmer, Nancy Marin, yesterday, will Cabinet support this as Belize's newest industry?"

Hon. John Briceno - Prime Minister
"Yes."

Courtney Menzies
"Right in Orange Walk, I believe you can get buffalo burgers, do expect to see ostrich steak on menus after this?"
