Earlier in the week, we told you about the information-sharing session that the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry held with the press. They were seeking to provide a balanced and evidence-based approach to make the case that the Government shouldn't rush to move the minimum wage from 3 dollars and 30 cents an hour to five dollars an hour.

On Monday, the Chamber provided research demonstrating that governments in other jurisdictions could encourage employers to pay a living wage by giving small tax breaks that offer relief in the cost of production.
