When it got to the bill for an act to extend the age of retirement for the Auditor General, temporary Senator Jones also spoke. The bill is to make it so that Dorothy Bradley - who had already reached the age of retirement - can be re-hired as auditor general - in line with the requirements of the constitution.
Jones urged the government to also strengthen that office - which he had experience with when he was Director of Sports and they were investigating a huge case of embezzlement at the sports council.
