Last night we took you to Belize City's Digi Park where several of the park's vendors were voicing their complaints over being charged parking fees near their place of business.
Well, tonight the City Council has responded to those complaints claiming to be, quote: "taken aback" by the comments. And, in a release, they're hitting back at the vendors by explaining that, not only did they consult with them before the parking meters were installed but they also offered a special discounted rate for vendor parking, while designing two spaces to be used for loading and unloading. The Council also claims to have quote: "made provisions for customers who wanted to access services from vendors and who require a short window of time for food pick up."
The Council says that all these promises were kept, and they go on to reiterate that the door is always open for dialogue with park vendors.
