So while Shyne has made peace with the Caucus For Change, he's even accepted that John Saldivar was the inevitable winner in the Belmopan convention.
Now, this is the same Shyne Barrow who campaigned hard for Saldivar to lose, urged voters to cast a ballot for anyone BUT him, he even begged the government to arrest the man.
But this morning, he calmly said - everyone knew it - that Saldivar would always win:

"Politics is local. There was never any question as to whether or not John would win Belmopan. What I stood for was just my principles and what I felt the party needed to project on certain policy issues, but let us not fool ourselves. A 4th time area representative that has been in politics since the Esquivel days, Recondev - John has been helping people and making a difference in people's lives for a long time. So to think that he did not have at least 1,000 people that no matter what, remember the house that he built, the education that he provided, the employment that he provided, the life changing differences that he made in their lives - it would have been foolhardy and so John is definitely the most powerful man in Belmopan."
"As far as the party is concerned, again I had a meeting with the caucus and John and the caucus agreed that no matter what constitutional amendment may take place, because I'll explain that process to you shortly, that despite any constitutional amendments, their commitment to me being the leader going into the next general elections remains firm. That is their agreement that Shyne Barrow will lead the party to hopefully become the next prime minister. After that, if I become the prime minister then we continue, if not all things are on the table. So as far as being threatened and having any concern, no, because we have an agreement. But I have no concern, because before that, a resolution will be pass that I remain the party leader going into the next general elections and so whatever happens after the next general elections - if I don't deliver, then I have no difficulty would being challenged."
