Last night we told you about Hattieville SDA principal Sharlette Jacobs. The 35-year-old was reported missing by family members after she failed to show up for school on Monday morning.

The good news tonight is that Jacobs returned home this morning safe and sound and somewhat regretful for taking off without telling anyone.

7News caught up with her today as she exited the police station, after giving the cops a report on where she'd been and why she felt the need to take a very unexpected day off.

Cherisse Halsall:
Sensationally, there was a missing report put out for you yesterday, why did your family feel the need to put that report out, I believe that."

Sharlette Jacobs, Found Safe
"It's out of character for me to just leave and not be in contact with anybody and given that, they felt the need to, well my husband felt concerned that something was off and so that is where the initial report came from."

Cherisse Halsall:
"Did they at the time indicate that they felt you were in danger of your life?"

Sharlette Jacobs, Found Safe
"I don't believe that was the case but, um, knowing the condition that things are happening so fast right now in Belize it was only wise enough for them to do so and I am grateful that they did."

Cherisse Halsall:
"How are you doing now?"

Sharlette Jacobs, Found Safe
"I am doing well, I am thankful to be home and thankful to God to have my family and my husband with me, I am expected to return to work tomorrow."

Cherisse Halsall:
"And what assurances have you given to your family about the situation that you were aware that they would be as worried as they became?"

Sharlette Jacobs, Found Safe "The fact that I am here is assurance enough."
