Today, February 28th marks the 99th birthday of Belize ex-serviceman and WWII veteran Rudolph Middleton. Middleton served in Italy with the North Caribbean Force toward the end of the war earning the "Italy Star" campaign medal.
His birthday was marked today when a band of soldiers stopped by the nonagenarian's residence to sing him Happy Birthday.

Middleton says that at the time when he joined up with Belize's forces, his barracks were located in the old Paslow building.
