On Tuesday, we told you that BEL had a big citywide blackout planned for Sunday. It was supposed to last for 8 hours, from 7 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon, and the reason they gave was to quote, improve the reliability of the power supply and meet the growing energy demands of customers in Belize City." End quote.

However, today, they announced that the blackout had been postponed until further notice. That means you no longer have to worry about not having your fan, your TV or your internet modem on Sunday since the electricity is expected to stay on all day.

And for all those who planned "beat the heat" day-trips to the Cayes or Chetumal BEL added that they apologize for any inconvenience caused.
