The Prime Minister promised it yesterday and it was delivered today - the names behind those companies that are now the Boledo master agents.
As we have reported the companies are Nando's Wholesale and MGM Entertainment. We know Nando's as a long established mercantile company, but who is MGM? It's surely not "Metro Goldwyn Mayer" of Hollywood fame!
Today - after locking the media out of the signing ceremony with these companies where the principals were on hand - GOB issued a release with the names of the principals of these companies, which are as follows:
The shareholders of MGM Entertainment Ltd., registered in Belmopan, are Jian He Chen and Amy Chen, distributors for lottery in the Corozal, Orange Walk, Cayo, Stann Creek and Toledo districts.
The shareholders for Nando's Wholesale LLP, registered in Belize city are Jitendra Nandwani, Ishwarlal Nandwani, and Nandlal Nandwani, distributors for Caye Caulker and San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.
There are 400 sub-agents (resellers) across the country, and Sales Distributors will earn a commission from the government owned BGLL of 15% on total wagers and will pay sub-agents a commission of 8-10%.
The remaining proceeds from the sale of the government lottery will remain with BGLL and will be used to fund the Official Charities Fund and the expansion of National Health Insurance.
There is no provision for any public reporting of revenues.
