In other court news, 24 year old Tehje Vaughn was also in court today. She is charged for manslaughter in the alleged accidental killing of her co-worker, 27 year old HRCU employee Charles Alexander Canton in late April.
Canton and Vaughn were outside of Alaska store in the Kings park area, when she attempted to move his licensed firearm from the vehicle seat, and the gun went off killing Canton.
Vaughn was arrested and charged for manslaughter by negligence at the instruction of the DPP.
Today Vaughn appeared at the magistrates court, along with her father, city councilor Albert Vaughn, and was provided with 54 pages of disclosure by chief magistrate Jayani Wegadapola. Vaughn was informed that her preliminary Inquiry is set for January 26th 2024.
