You won't have to buy that high priced imported Domino refined sugar anymore.

ASR BSI announced that as of today, they have resumed the sale of plantation white sugar for the domestic market. Their press release details

"Consumers can expect product to make it to the shelves in the coming days and the price will revert to the control price of 75 cents per pound"

And while ASR/BSI was forced by the smuggling induced scarcity to import sugar - which is an awful shame for the largest sugar producing country in the region - ASR couldn't have felt too badly about it. Why? Well they also own Domino Sugar in the US from whom they imported those 250 metric tonnes - a sweet deal, by any assessment.
