In other court news, 32 year old Keyren Tzib went to court today. She is the coast guard member who is on trial for the attempted murder of her fellow guardsman, 37-year-old Kurt Hyde back in 2015.
This morning, after the crown closed its case, her attorney Darrell Bradley made a no case submission. But it was rejected by the judge, Candace Nanton who said Tzib must answer to the charge.
So, the defence will have to present its case tomorrow morning.
The crown's case is that a Team of 15 Coast Guard, BDF and. Port Authority officers were on board a vessel heading to Belize City when Tzib used an M-4 Carbine to fire a single shot which caught Hyde. Three men who were on the boat testified that they saw her fire the shot.
Her Attorney said that the gun had been discharged by accident. Tzib is expected to give a dock statement tomorrow. She is currently out on bail.
