And in other tourism news out of Placencia, while there today we noted that the peninsula has a functional cruise port model at Harvest Caye, where the the cruise port is owned and operated by Norwegian Cruise Line.
We asked the Minister Of Tourism today whether this would be a model for the Belize District, where we could see ports owned and operated by major cruise lines. He says he disagrees with that model and here's why.

"I don't think that any project should be vertically integrated so the cruise line owns all aspects of the execution of people coming in so I don't agree with that but now if they want to partner with government then that is a different thing and I believe in the public private sector partnership as long as the Belizean people benefit. They can't be like other projects in the past."
