But until those changes come, CEO Williams maintains that like any other vehicle, buses will also experience mechanical issues. He stressed tho that they have the mechanics to ensure that the buses are maintained on schedule - despite reports that those mechanics were somewhere between go-slow and "stop":

"Did you all get ahead of yourselves and rush things and not ensure that certain aspects were in place particularly the mechanical repair aspect and maintenance?"
Chester Williams, CEO - Min of Transport
"I don't know where this notion came from with NBC not having mechanics because for the most part the operators when they are operating individually they had mechanics. Those mechanics that were with them came onboard to NBC and so they operate under NBC as mechanics so NBC do have mechanics and whenever these issue arise with bus, the mechanicsare there to remedy the issue and get the buses back on the road it is not like the breaking down is out of control it is not a case like that the company is doing it's best to make sure it remains viable and make sure importantly that it gets the Belizean commuters from point A to point B."

"But how many breakdowns have there been? I think I have counted 5 reports thus far probably 2 or 3, well buses not showing up in PG and I think one person posted of a bus breakdown last week but there has been more."
Chester Williams, CEO - Min of Transport
"I am not sure how many breakdowns there has been, but like I said before that once you drive a vehicle there is always a potential that there is going to be some issue arising with the vehicle. The question is how do we address them. And I think the national bus company has been responsive whenever they have issues with buses and making sure they address the issues as quickly as possible."
