But, while the Ministry remains on the defensive, they also had to address the circulating video that shows a number of NBC buses in what looks like a mechanic's graveyard. The Minister says the video was from the beginning of March and that they are working on ironing out the kinks which can be frustrating:

Dr. Louis Zabaneh, Minister of Transport

"Yes, this was early in March. In fact, we knew it because one of the buses, A Neoplan bus that came into the fleet from Mr. Shaw was in that video. But after the first week, that bus was moved to Belize City for repairs. In fact, it is still in Belize City. So we knew. I think part of that was released as part of the frustration. There's some frustration, as we'd expect, when you have many cultures being brought under one umbrella."

"And that is what has happened. We are putting now systems into place that were not there before. And so some of the people on the ground may have felt a little pressure that they have to adjust or change how they used to operate. Since then, I believe that our HR department, the national bus companies, HR department, and the CEO and other members of the NBC team have been around the country. Just yesterday, they were in the West meeting people, and that's going to take some time. So that's another big adjustment, HR, how the timing of when people are paid, how aligning the salaries because you had different rates for different bus companies and things of that nature. That's going to take some time and that is being worked on very aggressively. So it's not possible for all of that to have been done on day one. It's going to take time."
