The startup for the National Bus Company has been about as smooth as the bumpy road to Maskall.
So, did they launch prematurely with too many old buses prone to mechanical failure? We asked the Ministry of Transport CEO about this today:

Chester Williams, CEO - Min of Transport
"The NBC is a viable company, I can say to you it is up and running. Like with every other bus company or any other vehicle you do experience mechanical problems at times even a brand new vehicle from the garage, from the dealership you drive down the road and it breaks down it happens. But I can say that the minister has been working diligently and Jules said it best yesterday on his show. He said that while you can say that ministers may be absent from work or this and that Minister Zabaneh is on the ground and he approached this situation with a great degree of enthusiasm wanting to make sure it succeeds. As the CEO I am there to support my minister. I believe it is the right thing to do for the people of Belize; they do need a viable bus company. Yes, it is not where we want it to be but with time it is getting there and the minister is working diligently to get the national bus company where he wants it to be."
