And like the speakers before him, Faber also weighed in on the cost of living. He began with fuel prices but then added that virtually every product on grocery store shelves has seen an increase.

Patrick Faber, UDP Senator

"The deputy prime minister got up in the House and spoke a whole lot of nonsense about no new taxes. Well that has got to be nonsense when the bus rates are going up. And I told them in the budget debate, gas prices are up everyday, no new taxes, but you have to pay $2 more in gasoline. No new taxes but the gas that we cook with costs a whole dollar more."

"I don't know what world they live in but the world that I live in because I go to DK, I go to the shop on the boulevard, I go to New Moon in Ladyville, I go to UMall in Ladyville. And when I go there to buy my little groceries, I go to Sky because I live in Lord's Bank, when I go there, the things that I used to be able to buy, I cannot buy anymore and that's because I have a decent job, thank God I have a profession to return to, screw whatever anybody else had to say. And I get a very minute stipend in the senate for everybody who think we're rolling large, it ain't so. And I am telling you to go and buy anything in the supermarket right now, everything went up."
