Commuters Reeling After New Bus Fares Unveiled

The new bus fares were released early this morning, and tonight many commuters are reeling in disbelief.

So what jumps out? Well, start with the fare for an express bus to PG, that used to be $27, but it will now be priced at $43.50 each way, or $87 round trip.

And a trip to Corozal? Well, on a regular bus that's up from $11 dollars to $15.25. And on express it increases from $12.00 to a staggering $18.50.

And what about the most trafficked route by commuters? That's Belize City - Belmopan? Belize City to Belmopan express will go from $8.00 to $10.50.

And an express bus from Belize City to San Ignacio increases from $11 dollars to $15.50.
