Police are investigating a murder in the south after the body of 45-year-old Louis Martinez was discovered early this morning along the Thomas Vincent Ramos Highway near Maya King. He had been shot and stabbed. Police told us more:

"The investigation on Friday April 24th, 2026 sometime after 6:25am after information was received of a deceased male person between miles 20 and 21 on the Thomas Vincent Ramos Highway. The male person was subsequently identified as Louis Alberto Martinez, a 45 year old construction worker of Santa Cruz village. What we have gathered so far in the course of the investigation is that Mr.Martinez departed from his residence sometime around 4:30 pm the day prior believed to be en route to picking up his salary from an employer. We have since launched an investigation into his movements thereafter to see how that can assist with the ongoing investigation."

"Being that he was found with a gunshot wound and a stab wound are you guys kind of looking at it being foul play?"

"Certainly, it is being reviewed as a matter of foul play."
So far no one has been detained.
