


And turning now from narcos to crime, today a third body was found in the area behind the Port of Belize.
As you may recall, 19-year-old Jaheil Westby and 17-year-old Alwin Marin were discovered in that same area within the last two weeks. Now, a John Doe has been found - cause of death unknown. Jaleeza Roberts has this story.
This afternoon, police to the same seaside area where they found Alwin Marin one week ago. This time they found the body of John Doe reportedly dressed in a black T-shirt, khaki pants, and pair of Nike tennis shoes. ASP Stacy Smith told us more:

"Police have commenced a death investigation after the decomposed body of a male person was found along the shoreline behind the Port of Belize limited in Belize City. The investigation commenced at around 12:44pm today when officers were alerted of this discovery by a fisherman who was in the area. We have not been able to ascertain the identity of the individual however we are hoping that the clothing that is on the body would aid in this process and the public relations office is in the process of of putting that information together for public dissemination."
At this time, police stressed there is no indication of foul play:

"I was advised that no visible injury was observed."

"Are you guys suspecting that it's foul play or?"
ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"There is nothing to suggest that it's foul play at this time however the autopsy will provide further clarity as to that."
In the last two weeks, 3 bodies have been found in this area one mile southwest of the Port of Belize between the coast and the city's sewage ponds. It's a deserted and unsecured area and the police are looking more into it:

"Whilst it is behind the port of Belize Limited. That particular area, one is in the shoreline and the other was on land if, to my knowledge certainly any life lost is of interest to the police department and that is why we have been conducting numerous operations and have been voicing those areas of concern."
The remains have since been transported to the Belize National Forensic Services Laboratory morgue, where a post-mortem examination is pending to determine the cause of death and hopefully confirm the individual's identity. Jaleeza Roberts, 7 News.
