Clay Monsanto Charged for Murder

It took four months, but today well known Belize City resident Clay Monsanto was charged in absentia for the March 30th murder of "Lake I" resident William Staine Jr. Monsanto was charged jointly with Jeffrey Flowers. But today only 22 year old Flowers was arraigned as police could not find Monsanto. No plea was taken and Flowers was remanded to the Hattieville Prison until August 23.

The victim you may remember was found in a ditch near his home with his throat slashed and stab wounds to the body (See Man stabbed to death in the city).
