Orange Walk police have detained a 14-year-old primary schooler for the rape of a 13-year-old high school girl.
The rape occurred on Friday afternoon in Orange Walk Town. Both children were attending a volleyball tournament at the People's Stadium when they drifted outside. That's when the teenaged boy gave his young female friend a drink of orange Fanta that contained a substance which knocked the young lady out. Form there, she fell asleep and the 14 year old then raped her. He left her there and a passerby spotted her lying in the grass at 3:30 pm. Police took her to the hospital where it was confirmed that she had been raped. As for the young man alleged to be the aggressor, he has been arrested and charged for the indictable offence of rape.
Today in Orange Walk Magistrate's Court, the Magistrate ordered that he be remanded to boot camp.
