A Mennonite teenager from Spanish Lookout in Cayo is at the La Loma Luz Hospital recovering from gunshots to his neck, shoulder, and hand after he and his father were ambushed by armed gunmen on Saturday. Ruben Penner told police he was in the Aguacate Lagoon area with his 17-year-old son Leslie when they were accosted by an armed Hispanic man who emerged from the bushes. Penner told his son to drive up and that's three more men emerged and opened fire at their vehicle. Despite the ambush, the Penners drove off without being robbed.
