Vandals Target BEL

"Vandalism" that's what BEL says has been causing a few isolated blackouts and one national power outage last Friday night. One week after we first asked the question, the company today issued a release saying that a recent act of vandalism on the power line in Buena Vista Village caused a national power outage on Friday night. The longest it lasted in any area was two hours, but BEL says it could have been a 12 to 24 hour blackout if a concerned person had not called and told the repair workers where the wire had been cut.
