Today when the Prime Minister agreed to a 20 minute open air press briefing with Channel 7, Channel 5, LOVE FM and Amandala_ in Independence Village, it was his first sit down press encounter since October 20th. Since then, the Prime Minister has made it a habit of ducking out of and just plain running away from the media, particularly, it seems Channel 7. Before today's mini-briefing, the Prime Minister had not conducted an interview with us that was not under protest for three months. And even with a deepening national crisis, the Prime Minister has not consented to grant a TV interview since December 21st. But today, he told us that was Channel 7's fault, not his.
Said Musa, Prime Minister
"Frankly, I don't think the media has been fair to the Government in getting the other side across, which is our message that we've remain flexible in all this. All I hear on certain television stations or station is the union side, whipping it up and creating a frenzy. I do not hear the other side; the Government side the efforts and the hours spent by our ministers in trying to be accommodating, in trying to compromise in being flexible in addressing every single concern raised by the Teachers Union, the PSU and others."
