At first they called it a heinous murder-suicide but tonight the Police Department says the death of Delia Cruz and her husband Juan Dorado may have been a bizarre double murder involving a second, independent gunman. The original story was that a deranged Dorado shot his common-law wife injuring their young child in the process and then turned the shotgun on himself. The only problem with that story is that Dorado who later died was not killed with a bullet from a shotgun. One police theory is that Dorado may have used separate guns and someone picked up the extra gun and ran off with it before they arrived. However, family members say that Dorado would have had to use a handgun to shoot himself in the back of the head. Police say they are re-interviewing witnesses.
