A Belize City tour guide has reported to police that yesterday afternoon his family was victim to a home invasion and his maid and his 7 year old daughter were tied up. Carlos Lopez this evening visited our studios to tell us the tale of a man who went into his home and terrorized his daughter and maid.
Carlos Lopez,
"At 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon my wife called me and said that my daughters called her and told her that a man came into the house and tied my 8 year old daughter and the maid with duct tape and told them if they made any noise or shout that he would rape and kill both of them. My daughter, I had taught her that whenever people come like that she should try and kick them where it hurts most, she attempted to do that but it didn't happen. She went to kick the guy and the guy blocked her. So he told her not do it again so the maid told my baby to cool off. The guy went into the room. My little daughter knew her brother's cell phone was on the table. She ran got the cell phone and heard the guy coming back down the corridor so she told me that she put the phone between the chair and laid back down on the ground. When the guy left from the house then she got the phone, actually she went and got a scissors and gave it to the maid and then she, my 8 year old daughter, cut the duct tape from the maid's hands first and then the maid cut my daughter's hands free and then she called my wife and my wife called me. What I have missing is an undisclosed amount of cash, in the thousands, I have two checks which were made out from Extreme Tours. The checks have no names on them so I want to warn the public to be aware that these checks are out there. This guy is a dangerous guy, he could have killed my family yesterday so the police are looking for him but I want to ask the public if they have any information on this guy to please call the police or call me. I don't want any violence, I just want this guy to be caught and I want if he can kindly return back the cash."
Police are looking for one man in connection with this incident. We have the individuals name and photograph but cannot release it until and unless he is charged.
