He wants to be mayor, but Marshall Nunez is also wanted by the law. 7NEWS has obtained a court document which shows that a commitment warrant was issued in the Magistrate's Court for Marshall Nunez on the of 24th November. A commitment warrant is issued after someone is ordered by the court to pay a complainant he owes within a certain time and then fails to make that payment. The court then orders the police or the clerk to pick up the offender man and "commit" him to prison.
Well that's the order that's been put out on Councilor Nunez since the end of last month. He today told us he has made and fulfilled arrangements with his creditor to make the payment of just over a thousand dollars. He also stressed that he knew nothing of the commitment warrant.
