On Wednesday 7NEWS was on the scene when police cornered Marlon Budran inside his Jump Street home, and tonight we know why. Police say that 28-year-old Budran opened fire on his ex-girlfriend and the couple's five-year-old son. His ex is 30-year-old Aloma Ashon who, in a perplexing twist, was on the scene trying to get between budran and the police and intervene on his behalf. Well, apart from being his most energetic defender, Aloma is the one who reported him. She told police that on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 she was in an alley off of Wagner's Lane with her new boyfriend Leon Walford and her 5-year-old son when Budran rode up, pulled out a silver gun, and opened fire. He let off several shots but no one was injured.

Budran was detained shortly after the shooting at the home. He was formally charged today with two counts of aggravated assault. Magistrate Sharon Frazer denied him bail and remanded him to the Hattieville Prison until April 19th. This morning Budran showed Magistrate Frazer bruises and a injury to his back which he says came at the hands of the police.
