The last case of the January sitting of the Supreme Court which ended today saw the acquittal of a woman who knocked down and killed a man. A jury of 5 men and 4 women found 35 year old beautician Susan Moir not guilty of causing death by careless conduct. On September 27 of 2004, she was driving her Geo Tracker when she knocked down 68-year-old Eulogio "Charlie" Perez, an electrical engineer.

The jury's verdict was 7 to 2 in favor of acquitting Moir, a mother of two. Perez, a resident of Ladyville was crossing the Northern Highway at mile 9 and a half going to his car when he was knocked down.
