It will be a battle on the dance floor tomorrow night when students from five high schools square off in Belize's first ever dance-off competition. Students from Sadie Vernon, St. Michael's College, St. John's College, Gwen Liz and Belmopan Comprehensive Schools will be competing in the competition. Organizers Shan Ferguson and Kareem Staine say the show will be like nothing seen in Belize before.

Kareem Staine, Organizer -Dance-off
"Each group will have a chance to compete on stage and the best team will win and we will find out which school is the best dance school in Belize."

Shan Ferguson, Organizer -Dance-off
"For the competition the breakdown for the judges will be choreography, coordination, team work, participation, and who puts in the hard work.

We want everybody as high school students to go out and show their talent and be seen. Most of our society think teenagers have nothing to offer than violence and crime so we are trying to show to society that teenagers do have something to offer."

Kareem Staine,
"It will be the first time on stage, everybody giving their all and it will be fun, hype."

Shawn Ferguson,
"Just all participants will have an opportunity to show their talent, show exactly what they can do and show society that if they are interested in dancing, they have other people who can show them how to do it or teach it and work with them."

Showtime is 7:30 tomorrow night at the City Center. $10 will get you in and organizers promise a surprise at the end. The winning dance squad walks off with $500 among other prizes.
