A construction worker was electrocuted on the job this morning south of San Pedro Town. 32-year-old David Enrique Pott was mixing cement on the construction site when we came into contact with an exposed extension wire. That exposed wire and wet cement had deadly consequences for Pott who died on the spot. Pott's body is undergoing a post mortem.
For its part, Belize Electricity Limited today reminded customers to be aware of the dangers associated with electricity. Just this past weekend David Bahadur was seriously injured when the aluminum pipe he was using to poke mangoes off of a tree touched a 22-kilovolt line. Earlier this year a man flying a kite was electrocuted.
