This morning a newborn baby was found after she had been abandoned. Between 7:30 and 8 this morning, 35-year-old Roaring Creek resident Sherilee Williams found the new born girl bundled in a towel on her verandah. The child still had her umbilical chord attached, and appeared to be only a few hours old. She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors determined that she was four pounds, two ounces and had gone through 36 weeks of gestation. Her condition is stable, but no one has come to claim her. Police are urging the mother of this newborn to come forward.
