Special anti-drug operations were conducted in San Pedro this weekend, and they netted police over 18 pounds of cocaine. At around 7 on Saturday morning police led a search at the San Marcus home of 21-year-old Alexander Murallez that had police discover 7 packages of cocaine hidden in the attic of the home. Police arrested and charged Murallez as well as another man 22 year old Herman Funes.

They appeared in Magistrate's Court today where Funes pled guilty to the charge of drug trafficking. He was sentenced to 5 years in jail as well as given a $25,000 fine. If he defaults in paying the fine he's to spend an additional 5 years in prison.

The case against Murallez was adjourned.
