On Friday night we told you about the troubling case of the 5 year old daughter of deceased Police Constable Benedicto Salam and his common law wife Josefa Choc, who is accused of killing him. She's in jail, and cannot have custody of the child, but she doesn't want Salam's family to have the child either. So when Salam's family took the child to see her on Friday, the Prison Department intervened and took temporary custody of the child at the mother's request. That was only for two hours, as the Department of Social Services was called in and, in line with the mother's wishes, they handed the child over to the mother's sister. That leaves Salam's family very upset, but it is the mother's wish and the decision of the Department of Social Services.
